What I Found in a Nutshell

I looked at how people use Playmix and found something interesting. The product itself is great, once people start paying, half of them are still using it three months later. That’s a huge win and shows people love the core product.

But there’s a big problem right at the start. For every 200 people who sign up, only one actually starts a trial. That’s a 0.5% conversion rate. This means the problem isn’t the game-making tool itself; it’s that we’re stopping people from ever getting to see how cool it is.

The User Journey: Where Things Go Wrong

Here’s a step-by-step look at what a new user goes through and where the roadblocks are:

1. The Free Credits Mix-Up

The FAQ and pricing page both mention free credits, but when a user tries to make a game, they have zero. This is confusing and breaks their trust right away. When people get confused, they don’t try to figure it out; they just leave. This is a major reason for that low 0.5% conversion.

2. Blocking the "Wow!" Moment

The magic of Playmix is seeing your idea turn into a real game. But we’re blocking that magic by asking for money first. People need to see the value before they’re willing to pay. The fact that some users spend hours on the site proves they’re motivated. We’re just not giving them the final push they need.
